Fretwork

Fretwork consists of the proper radius and level of the frets to each other across the fretboard, over-all fret height, proper crowning and polishing. Level frets do not cause "buzzing", properly radiused, crowned, and polished frets allow for optimal playability. We do all type of fretwork including: Partial fret levels, Fret re-crowning and Fret polishing, and Full fret levels and re-dress. We also do fret replacement on any type of fretboard, including installation of stainless steel frets - the last fret you'll ever install... We also offer PLEK services through our partners at Wolfe Guitars. The PLEK machine is a computer-controlled machine used in guitar building and repair to achieve a precise fret leveling leading to an optimal set-up afterwards. It scans the guitar's neck and frets under the string tension of your preferred tuning with high accuracy, identifies areas needing adjustment, and then uses robotic tools to optimize fret height radius and crowns, ensuring optimal playability. The PLEK machine can level frets with extreme accuracy, often within thousandth's of a millimeter, which is far more precise than traditional hand-leveling methods. It uses CNC (computer numerical control) technology to scan the fretboard, analyze fret heights, and make adjustments with robotic precision. It can also be used as a diagnostic tool to identify potential issues with the neck, frets, and other parts of the guitar. PLEK allows for more consistent and precise fretwork, removal of the least amount of Fretwire (extending the life of your current frets) leading to improved playability, No fret buzz, and a better overall playing experience.
