Guitar Shop Pricing

All prices listed are labor only – parts are not included. I have access to any part that may be required, even some vintage one's! Any repair work not listed here is subject to inspection and can be quoted accordingly...

We offer each customer a Free evaluation of every instrument. I will go over your instrument top to bottom, electronics included and then provide you with a full written analysis of what the current set up is and any "underlying" issues, that either of us are aware of.... before I can quote you a "real" number without coming back to you and saying "ohhh we found this....." When I quote you a price - it doesn't change.

***Estimates for repairs or mods cannot be given over the phone or by email without actually seeing the instrument - Thank You for understanding...

Standard Shop Rate

The standard, hourly shop rate for "unlisted, unusual or particularly labor-intensive" repairs or modifications is $95.00 per hour.

Some large repairs may require the job to be stretched out over a period of days, clamping and flattening can take a month, in small periods, for which the bench time will be recorded by the minute and accumulated @ $95 per hour (or $1.5833 per minute....)

Setups

Setups include the following:

Shave or shim bridge saddle (acoustics)Removal of any old strings
Internal evaluation of an acoustic cavity
Inspect internally for loose braces or cracks
Evaluate and re-seat or glue down any loose fret ends (within reason)
Clean the fingerboard and a "simple polish" of the frets
Oiling of fingerboard
Check electronics and clean pots/switches (if necessary)
Tighten tuners and any hardware

Clean neck and body (within reason*)

Check and clean nut slots
Shave or shim bridge saddle (acoustics)
Adjust bridge saddles for action height (electrics + leveling floating trems)
Adjust truss rod
Adjust pickups optimally
Set intonation with a Peterson strobe tuner
Re-string with Blue Magic Music brand strings
Tune to pitch
Stretch in
Final polish

NOTE: Setups are very dependent on the player’s playing style, chosen tuning and string gauge used – especially floating trem guitars. All instruments are setup to standard A440 tuning unless specified differently before hand – the more information you give about how you like your guitar set, the better I can help you...

Fretwork

Full Fret Level & Re-Dress, w/ Hand Polish of Frets and Body – $295 (includes a full set up & customer choice of strings)
"Pleking" of Frets - just ask ! Yes we have access to CNC P-L-E-K Machine @ Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter, FL!

Full Re-fret unbound rosewood/ebony fingerboard – $480
Full Re-fret bound or maple fingerboard – $525
Partial Re-fret – $25.00 per fret (not recommended)
File sharp ends from fingerboard dehydration – $25 per fret
Any fret work involving stainless steel +30%

Nuts and Saddles

New Tusq. Brand or Bone Nut(s) and Saddle(s) start at just $85.00 including labor
Nut Slot Filing on existing nut – Shop rate per Minute
Acoustic Saddle Compensation - Shop rate per Minute

Electronics

Troubleshooting: First 15 mins – no charge!, then shop rate applies ($1.50 per minute)
Volume or Tone Pot, Switch Replace: Shop rate per Minute
Pickup Replacement: Shop rate per Minute
Pickup Routing: Will Quote
Pickup Wax Potting: Helps to eliminate squeal and feedback - ASK !
Pickup Rewinding: ASK !
Any Custom Wiring: Shop rate per Minute

NOTE: Semi-hollow guitars take longer, hourly bench rate applies. Installation of any components with a PC board (Pre-amps and Sustainers particularly) must be from a brand new, packaged units only.

Tuner Replacement

Direct retrofit with no drilling - Shop rate per Minute
Direct with drilling new mount holes - Shop rate per Minute
Boring from ‘vintage’ size to ‘modern type’ 10mm install - Shop rate per Minute

Other Misc. Repairs

Re-glue Acoustic Bridge:

Remove lifting bridge, clean, prep, and re-glue - $95.00

Acoustic Structural Repairs:

Over-humidification : "Flattening" of acoustic Tops = $260.00
Bridge Doctor install $125.00
Re-glue top and back cracks, cracked/loose braces, etc. – Shop rate per Minute
Broken Headstocks/Necks – Quote upon inspection...
